Starglobe: AR Night Sky Guide App Reviews

56 add

Never seemed to work right?

Ive had this app for about one year and never could get it working... then the ads came and things got worse. Based on the free app, I would never take a chance on the pay version. Still, I do appreciate that the developers made this app in the first place. Thanks!

Worked only for a moment

After the app first installed, it opened up for about a minute before popping up an ad. After that it locked up. Now it just locks up almost immediately, only to display an ad and offer a newsletter.

I dont know what all the reviews are talking about. This app did what I wanted. There was one ad that I got by within the first 2 seconds. It was a bit laggy but it worked as expected. Would be 5 stars if it was smoother. But what do you expect from a free app. I recommend to try!

All about the ads?

This used to be a wonderful app. I used it to show my kids the stars and planets. Now it freezes on the ads. Im removing it from my iPad.

Critical user

Cant understand why the application shows items below the horizon (in darkened area) long before they have set for real. Is this application stuck in eastern standard time ? How can I update it to show me the sky in real time? Bad app if I cant reference observable objects with the horizon. Id rate this app as 2 out of 10 for that error alone, even if its free.

Not accurate

Test outdoors and the obvious planters like Jupiter and Venus are at least 20 dg off from actual.

Free version bugs seem fixed

When the free version went to advertising, the adverts crashed the app. This seems fixed now. A great app when working as it does now.

Driver Robert is correct. It shows everything off by about 20-30 degrees. It would be a terrific tool if they could correct it.

Not free

Says free version but you have to pay 99 cents and you still get ads! I dont mind paying 99 cents if you get ad free.

Problems

Had it for a long time and its one of my favorites. Recently on opening the app it sticks on North no matter where you point it. Sometimes restarting it fixes it but the last few times Ive had to run it manually.

Needs improvement

Its like Im looking at a completely different sky. No matter what I try to adjust it, the moon is always below me. And the constellations in the sky are completely different than the ones on the app. Im decently knowledgable about the constellations, and its showing me things that would be seen on another part of the earth instead of where I am.

Really great app but needs some improvements

This app helped me locate stars a whole lot easier but needs a time change mode. But this app definitely needs 5 stars in my opinion!

Not even worth free

First of all, the calibration was off. Moving the iPad around sometimes would work and sometimes didnt. I turned it off and I could look at the sky just fine. Then I made the mistake of going into Earth View. It put me in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and nothing I did would change that. Unfortunately it change d the location to be there so the sky wouldnt match up anymore. That made the app useless. I figured out how to fix it....delete the app, disappointed.

Awesome App!!!

This app is great. I think it could use some improvement in a few areas, but it is still great. Best free star app Ive seen. :)

Useless

IPhone 6S app totally unstable. Display will not work unearth mode.

Nice but auto-compass does not work

When I first tried Starglobe about 3-4 years ago, it was great. I could point at a section of sky and match the stars to the display. After the next update, it never worked again. If it works at all, when I face west, it points east; when I face north, it points south. Up and down work fine and manually slewing to the correct view works. The rest of the implementation is great though I have not ever checked the satellites.
